Operator-led · remote-friendly

Stop running the business out of your head.

Start with a paid AI Review — a sit-down with us plus a written plan of where hours leak. Then Sprint the quick wins, or build Custom systems you own. Keep them working on a flat monthly fee.

For owner-run shops where the owner still touches inbox, quotes, and the weekly pile. Nothing goes out without your yes.

CALL DAVE BACK re: deck boards!!
MORNING BRIEFMON · 7:02 AM

3 things need you today.

  • Hendricks Remodel: $14,200 quote, no touch since 9/2Follow-up draft is ready. Read it, fix it, send it.
  • Harbor Lane Inn: who's on it?Assign it or kill it. Duplicate row cleaned up.
  • Call Dave back about deck boardsFrom Thursday's voice note. Not a sticky note.

Nothing sent. Waiting on you.

Illustration, not a client. Names made up. Spreadsheet painfully real.

30+ yrs on the floor

Built on 30+ years of running and fixing operations across retail, consumer brands, and manufacturing. We start with how your business actually runs, then decide what to build. Then we measure whether it worked.

Offer ladder

Start with a Review. Prices in writing.

Four rungs. Reviews feed Sprints and Custom builds. Those feed Keeps. Fixed scope before work starts — no hourly meter.

01 · FRONT DOOR$1,500

AI Review

A paid sit-down and a written plan of where hours leak. Owner interview, workflow walk-through, prioritized roadmap, readout. About one week. 100% credited toward a Sprint or Custom SOW started within 60 days.

02 · QUICK WINS$4,000–$6,000

Sprint

Implement the top 1–3 wins in tools you already pay for. About two weeks, plus a runbook so it still works in month three.

03 · BIGGER BUILDfrom ~$8,000

Custom Systems

Custom AI on your machine or in your cloud. Fixed-scope SOW. You own the account. No model training from scratch.

scoping rules →

Client-owned accounts only. No model training from scratch. No regulated patient-style data without a separate compliance review. Anything outside a written scope gets quoted before it gets done.

Who it's for

Owner-run shops where the owner is still in the weeds.

Owner-operated businesses doing roughly $1–20M — trades, professional services, local ops, food, and CPG — where the owner still touches inbox, quotes, and weekly reporting. Wherever you are; we work remote.

You are the system.

Quotes, reorders, and who-owes-what live in your head. Works great until you take a Friday off.

Typed in twice.

Point of sale, QuickBooks, email, a phone full of texts. Same customer, four spellings.

Things slip.

Open quotes, callbacks, service reminders. They fall through in busy weeks. Every week is a busy week.

Cash surprises.

Who pays late? What's cash look like in three weeks? Ask the spreadsheet. Nobody updated the spreadsheet.

The yard never reaches the office.

What the driver or tech saw stays in the truck. Or in their head. Or nowhere.

"AI" sounds like a pitch.

Usually is. Your books don't need to go into an app somebody mentioned on a podcast.

Example automations

What it looks like in practice.

Worked patterns from real ops thrash. Illustrations — not guarantees, and not client results.

Example 1

Inbox triage

Owner stops skimming 100 emails; only sees the dozen that need a decision. Rules + draft replies; you touch the exceptions.

You only see what needs you

Example 2

Quote follow-up queue

PDF quotes stop sitting for weeks. Tracked queue + draft close-outs waiting on your yes.

Nothing sends without your OK

Example 3

Monday ops digest

One Monday page instead of scattered Sheets, Slack, and memory: opens, numbers, decisions waiting on the owner.

One page. Monday morning.

How it works

Problem first. Shiny stuff later.

STEP 01~1 WEEK

AI Review

Map the hours leak. Leave with a written plan — yours to keep whether you hire us or not.

STEP 02YOUR CALL

Choose the path

Sprint for quick wins in tools you already pay for. Custom when you need a private box or a system in your cloud.

STEP 03FIXED SCOPE

Build + Keep

Acceptance criteria written before work starts. Optional Keep on a flat monthly fee so what we built doesn't rot.

field note →

Small business automation only works if it fits how your crew actually works. Sometimes the fix is a better checklist, and we'll tell you that.

How we work

Three rules. Not up for discussion.

RULE 1

Never paste the crown jewels.

Bank logins, Social Security numbers, pay and health details stay out of AI tools. Period.

RULE 2

Money stays with the owner.

Cash and receivables reports go to you. Staff see schedules and job notes, not the books.

RULE 3

A person says OK.

AI drafts, reminds, and flags. It never sends, pays, or changes your records on its own.

Read-only connections by default. You own every account. Every setup is written down so it's yours to keep. Most work lives in tools you already pay for (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace). Custom builds can sit on your machine or in your cloud when you want that.

Questions

Fair questions. Straight answers.

Do I have to buy a Sprint after the Review?

No. You keep the roadmap. If you hire us for a Sprint or Custom SOW within 60 days, the Review fee credits in full.

Sprint or Custom — how do I know?

If the wins fit tools you already pay for, Sprint. If you need a private box or a system living in your Azure / AWS / GCP, Custom.

Will this replace our IT / MSP?

No. They keep the network and devices. We fix how the work gets done.

Is this just selling AI?

No. You're paying to fix a business problem. AI is one tool. If a checklist or a cleaner spreadsheet does the job, that's what you'll get.

Do I need to be good with tech?

No. If you can answer an email, you can use what we build.

Will it send, post, or pay on its own?

No. Nothing goes out without your yes.

Where are you based?

Maine. We work remote wherever you are.

Affiliated with any employer?

No. Independent practice.
